SAPPHO’S FRAGMENTS
A sequential project from my second year of BA Illustration. For this book i interpreted the surviving fragments of Sappho’s poetry, informed by the shapes of the papyrus that remains.
The book was hand printed with risograph; blue, yellow, fluorescent pink and purple. I hand-bound these books with a pamphlet stitch in a complimentary purple thread.
THE PURPLE EDITION
I developed the finished Sappho zine into a one colour edition on a neutral recycled paper for a more distinct view of the illustrations.
